Creatively Edited Weddings

by Gregory Constantine on Mar.26, 2009, under HD Weddings

Ever watch a wedding video that puts you to sleep? There’s just no “creative edge” to it, right? I know a lot of people who wish their wedding video had more of that innovative look. The weddings I create on the other hand are watchable over and over again. Every client always contacts me saying they can’t get enough of the way it was shot and edited. My response to something like that would be, “Who wouldn’t want to remember their one and only special day the best way possible?”

It’s all about creativity. There’s really not that many people out there who can take something kinda boring and make it really fun and interesting to watch. For instance: Themes. Do you have a certain theme to your wedding? Biker wedding? Disney wedding? Everything created is based around your special day. Everything is customized the same way your day was planned.

Most wedding videographers and editors stick with the same old boring template. Here’s the wedding, a short montage, and here’s some dancing and some black and white filters with a strobe effect. How boring is that to watch? Something really stiff? And just to know that your wedding is completely edited the same way as everyone else’s? Couples these days don’t really get what they pay for.

Every single wedding I have edited are all completely different. All based around the theme of your special day. Have a biker theme wedding? You better believe you’ll be getting some heavy metal tunes in there. Having that Disney theme wedding? You better believe all the characters are showing up. Also, when your final product is mastered to DVD or Blu-ray, all the menus will be customized to your desire. None of this template crap. Too overrated.

One special service I like to offer those getting married is a customized movie trailer. It’s your day. You are the center of attention. So why not have a crazy fun movie trailer to show off to all your friends? All of my customers have raved about these. We’ve all seen movie trailers. They are beyond bad-ass to watch. Have a certain movie that you love deeply? I will customize it to that movie. They really are amazing to watch, and trust me, you’ll watch it over and over again.

You really can’t beat our price, for one of the most creatively edited weddings you’ll ever see. And now, I leave you with a trailer to a wedding…

The Origin of Galaxy Editing

by Gregory Constantine on Mar.23, 2009, under HD Weddings

A lot of people have been asking, “How did Galaxy Editing come about?” and “Where did the name come from?” Ladies and gentlemen, time to take a small trip to the past…

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….

Just kidding. Well, not really. It all started back in 2001, actually, I take that back, for now… 1997. In that year I just entered high school, had to take an elective course, so I chose Television Production. Thought it was a pretty interesting course. Knew nothing about camera work, editing, etc. The first couple years were just the very basics of camera work and linear editing. What’s sad is, it was all VHS we were dealing with.

Senior year rolls around, it’s 2001. Digital Video Editing is introduced to the television department at the school. I was lucky enough to be one of the guinea pigs for this amazing software, Final Cut Pro. Just having the power and flexibility to do what couldn’t be accomplished via tape to tape was just awesome.

One of the course projects that year was to do a mocumentary. So why not do a twist on Star Wars and do a mock interview with George Lucas? I was able to take one of my favorite trilogy’s of all time, import that footage into a computer, do a staged interview with George Lucas and make a really cool video that blew away all of my classmates. No, that is not where the name Galaxy Editing came from, we will get to that in a moment.

A side project I was working on with my brother and best friends is where the name came about. We did yet another spoof on Star Wars, this time, using photoshop to create some really cool special effects. The title of that short film was called “Galaxy Pool” which starred two friends in battle of billiards, which a lightsaber serves as a cue-stick and erupts into a small intense battle scene. It was one of the most popular short films in school and was up for an Emmy within all the television classes. My skills however, have gotten extremely better since then.

After graduating from high school and graduating in the television broadcasting field at Ai New England in Boston, I decided it was time to use my freelance editing skills and offer my services to people who want fun, hip videos. Whether it’s picture montages, music videos, or wedding videography and editing, I put a small twist to it and make them interesting to watch over and over again.

So taking one of my favorite movies of all time and the one thing I love doing best, editing, I came up with Galaxy Editing. It was initially formed in 2006 and has been very successful to date.

Below, is a trailer to the once popular, “Galaxy Pool.”
