Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – Review!

by Gregory Constantine on Jun.26, 2009, under Movie/Game Reviews

transformers-logo1It’s clear movies these days are all a matter of opinion. For whatever reason “movie critics” gave this movie a 22% boggles my mind. I’m a huge Michael Bay fan and for me, walking in this movie, I had high expectations. Did the movie deliver? Hell yeah it did! This one blew away the first one by a long mile, and the first one was even great.

I truly have had it with these so called “movie critics.” They don’t even make any sense. They are people, like you and me, who just have their own opinions, but they seem to try and get their stupid message across on whether or not a movie is worth seeing. Personally, I don’t give a rats ass what “movie critics” think. They are always wrong… Plain and simple, if you like Michael Bay movies and you like crap getting blown up, then see this movie. It’s amazing. Don’t listen to these ignorant arrogant morons. “Movie critics” give it a 22%… I give it 100%. Purely opinion there.

So what made this movie so great? Top 10 reasons (no specific order):

1. Action Packed – Non-stop action, everything being blown to bits. Awesome.
2. Sound – The most amazing sound I’ve ever heard in any movie, by far. Awesome.
3. CGI – Robots looked pretty real to me. Would be cool if this really did happen. Awesome.
4. Music – Steve Jablonsky is the man yet again. Just all the timing with the action. Awesome.
5. The Transformers – New characters, same characters, it’s all great. Soundwave? Awesome.
6. Acting – It’s pretty good. You laugh at the smart ass comments. So great. Awesome.
7. Story – I found it to be very interesting. Perfect length as well. Awesome.
8. Director – Michael Bay and his fantastic low angles and creative editing. Awesome.
9. Executive Producer – Steven Spielberg’s name attached to greatness. Awesome.
10. IMAX – Crystal clear picture, and throw all the above in and you got one hellava movie experience.

Awesome.

I just hope Bay takes on the third installment someday. Either way, I am happy with just the two. Thank you Michael Bay for one great movie, and thank you ILM for your superior work once again. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Here’s the first TV Spot that came out to hype the movie…

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – Preview

“Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing.” -Optimus Prime

Yea, I know, it’s been a really long time since I last updated this thing. But since the last two posts had a Michael Bay resemblance to it, I think I will just continue with one last post on him before the big day next week.

First, I have my tickets to see the new Transformers at the IMAX. It’s a simple as this, if you don’t see it at the IMAX, you’re not that bright. What is it? A buck more? And you get what out of it? Incredible sound, incredible picture. All the action sequences were shot in the IMAX format. Who wouldn’t want to see that?

Second, I would agree with everyone that the first movie dragged a lot, somewhat good action, most spoiled in the trailers and online clips. Now that the setup is over, I’m pretty sure this next one will be hardcore action right off the bat. I’ve pretty much gone almost dark with this movie (no spoilers). So there should be a lot of surprises for me.

Third, I’m mostly excited for the rumored 60 robots in the movie. Also, excited that the Constructicons are finally making an appearance, as well as the Fallen. Those few Transformers alone are just screaming “blow shit up.” Devastator should be pretty bad ass.

Finally, you can trash Michael Bay all you want, he’s still a genius. If you loved all his other movies, you’ll definitely love this one. He’s 95% action as you all should know. It’s also clear at this point that this is the biggest movie of the year and will blow away every other movie that hits theaters this year.

The shot that makes Michael Bay.

by Gregory Constantine on May.04, 2009, under Movie/Game Reviews

Michael Bay, the legend on Directing movies. Alongside Bay comes two other talented producers of his movies, Steven Spielberg and Jerry Bruckheimer. Most of you are aware I’m sure of Bay’s movie path.

He demands things to be AWESOME! 100% Action in all of his movies. He loves to blow things up too, and not sure you know this, but there is at least one car chase scene in all of his movies. Once again, awesomeness.

Think of his line of work. You got: Bad Boys (1995), The Rock (1996), Armageddon (1998), Pearl Harbor (2001), Bad Boys II (2003), The Island (2005), Transformers (2007), and the most anticipated film of the year, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009).

Can anyone guess the similarity between all of these films? Besides the fact there is a ton of action and stuff blowing up? If any of you understand Bay’s work, you will notice a very familiar shot in every one of his movies. To me, I call it “The Michael Bay Shot.” Yeah, I guess that sounds kind of lame, but what are you gonna do?

It’s pretty much expected in all of his movies. As you can see below from the stills, it’s a shot where the camera is on the ground facing up at the actor rotating in slow motion. The most fantastic shot in all of his films. I mean, just look at the shots. Can someone say, “bad ass?” The man is a legend, and this summers blockbuster, Transformers 2, will prove that yet again.
